I WITNESSED TWO GIANTS MEET
I was a lone audience when Senator JPE handed to Bongbong Marcos the "missing" Marcos diaries of 1971. The diary, a handwritten recollection of the late strongman, is a compilation of historical events which took center stage in the affairs of the country where JPE himself played a key role in its unfolding. The diary was in his safekeeping for many years.
Three days to go before a new chief executive of this city is installed. Mayor Bonito has won by a little over 500 votes but the ecstacy on his victory overspills even to the outskirts of Vigan. With his victory comes new hope for the people, and for the next three years in office, Mayor Bonito will surely leave a legacy worthy of emulation, in the same manner his "Maestro Seling" did many years ago when he too was mayor. It is also noteworthy to say that among the many projects, a tram system or a "trambia" will be built in order to provide a nostalgic mode of transportation for local folks and visitors.
